J-E-T-S BRETT BRETT BRETT

8 08 2008

Well, it’s sort of big news, and everybody has heard about it. Brett Favre is now a member of the New York Jets. This saddens me quite a bit because I am a very large Packers fan. It will be very strange for me to see another quarterback under center for the Packers, I was less than 2 years old the last time somebody besides Brett Favre started a game for the Packers. So it goes without saying that this season is going to be a little bit strange for me.

Despite the strangeness, I am very optimistic about the outcome of this season. We were 13-3 and made the NFC Championship last year and I like what I have seen from Aaron Rodgers on the field so far. It seems that every other Packers fan has forgotten what he did against the Cowboys last year, 18 completions for 201 yards and a touchdown. On top of the passing statistics he showed the ability to move around outside the pocket more effectively than Favre has been able to in many years.

Now don’t get me wrong, as much as I support Aaron Rodgers, I am extremely disappointed that I won’t get to see Mr. Favre in green and gold this season. Favre is the greatest quarterback of all time and that shouldn’t even be debateable, the man holds every career pasing record there is, he has a superbowl victory, and the Packers only have one losing season with him at quarterback.

Anyway, this season promises to be exciting.
